We decided to go on a vacation before Brinley comes. Last week we went to St. George, Zions, Lake Powell, The Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. It was a lot of fun despite a few unexpected events. We went boating on Lake Powell and we were told that it was going to get windy late in the afternoon. The boat we rented was just a small 19' boat. Starting out the weather was great and the water was very calm. We decided to head out to Padre Bay which is about 27 miles from Wawheap Marina. The farther we went the prettier it was. There was one problem the wind started to pick up and the waves became very rough. I was bouncing around like a rag doll. I had to sit in the back to prevent myself from going into labor. Our only other real adventure was taking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. I was scared, but Shad was so excited. Wind was our struggle the whole trip. So, as soon as we started our flight over the Grand Canyon the pilot said to check our seatbelts because the ride was going to get bumpy. By the time our flight was over Shad about threw up and was sick the rest of the day. I was a little sick, but I was okay enough to drive us to Las Vegas. I think the highlight of our trip was staying at the Zion Mountain Resort just outside Zion National Park. If you haven't stayed there before the resort has individual cabins that are suites. The one we stayed in has a fireplace, king sized bed and a jetted tub. We could also view buffalo from our porch. They have a fenced area for the buffalo right outside the cabins. It is really cool. We highly recommend it. Here is a picture from our helicopter ride and a couple video clips from our trip. One is from Lake Powell and the other one is the view from the helicopter we were in flying over the Grand Canyon***
