This past Saturday was spent finishing the sprinkling system and laying sod...yeah we have grass instead of dirt everywhere (thanks again to Josh, Jed and Lincoln)!!! I think we are going to sod the rest of our yard since the grass we now have looks so good. I was not excited to plant bushes. I know for most people it is no big deal, but for me I felt pretty overwhelmed. Despite my apprehensions I did get them planted. Lets just hope they grow! Brinley and I went out on the new grass for a few minutes. It looked warm today, but was COLD :( I am sad to realize the warm days have come to an end.
Brinley is still teething. She is cutting multiple teeth right now and all I can say is thank you for Motrin. If any of you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. I have tried the teething rings, gum numbing medicine and teething tablets (they do seem to help), anything hard she will chew on!! It breaks my heart to see her in so much pain and to hear her scream off and on all day!
We are slowly adjusting to living in this house. I still don't feel settled yet. Hopefully, I will with time. I did get a new calling. I get to teach the 5 year olds! I was really nervous to be in Primary again. My last experience wasn't a good one. However, today went great so I hope it will continue! Shad's new calling is watching Brinley for 2 hours of church. Today it was really special to see them be able to have a couple hours together. I think they both really enjoyed it. She didn't want anyone but her dad ALL day. She is such a daddy's girl!
Our good friend, Nick, is in the marines and is leaving for his third tour. His first two were in Iraq and he is leaving to Afghanistan for his third tour. We were able to say goodbye to him this weekend. He will be leaving this next week. Some of the people he became friends with while working for Shad threw him a party yesterday. It was a lot of fun. We are so very grateful for Nick and all of the service men and women who serve our country. I couldn't imagine having Shad leave Brinley and I for 8 plus months and know there was a good chance he wouldn't be coming back. There are many women and children who are in that position and my heart goes out to them. They sacrifice their husbands/fathers for us. There are no words to express to them what that means to us.
