Considering all the has been happening we had a really good Christmas. Uneventful, but good! Christmas Eve I was feeling good enough to get out for a few hours. Brinley hadn't been sleeping very well so she was cranky. We went to lunch at Ruby River and had to leave early because she had a meltdown :( Shad and I had to keep our yearly tradition so we decided to go to Sears and then let Brinley see Santa. Our gifts to each other this year were kind of funny. A toaster, a spice rack, a stud finder and more tools...pretty practical I know:) Luckily, Brinley didn't want to get any closer to Santa than about 20 feet. I was already pushing things and the line to sit on Santa's lap was really long. We got an ice cream from subzero...yum, and headed home for a nap. After we woke up Shad pulled out the gingerbread house. Brinley didn't have a problem testing the candy before putting them on the house :) Another tradition that we have is to see the Festival of Lights on Christmas Eve. Once we were done with dinner we headed down and saw the lights. Brinley was really cute. She would dance to the music and just stare at all the lights.
Christmas Day we actually were able to sleep in...yay. Santa brought Brinley a piano and a book. It was really nice not to have a bunch of gifts to open. It helped us focus on what really matters. For some reason Shad had a really manly christmas and I had a very domestic Christmas. I guess I need to step up my housewife skills :) We just relaxed all day, had some family over and ate some yummy ham and potatoes. It is a Christmas we will never forget :) We are grateful for our Savior and have a testimony that he lives and loves us!!
