Life has finally slowed down enough for me to write again! We took our little man to Primary Children's on Monday. They did three different tests, a barium swallow (formula with dye in it), a contrast test for his esophagus and a reflux test. We love Primary Children's and the people we worked with there. They gave us results during the x-rays and made sure all of our questions were answered before we left. The only test that came back positive was his reflux test. Poor kid has a HORRIBLE case of reflux. They made sure we were given specific instructions on how we should handle his case. He is on the highest dose of prevacid, needs to sleep on a 45 degree angle with a rolled up hand towel behind his back and is on a special formula for spit-up. We were told that it could take up to a year for it to resolve itself. He has been doing a lot better and sleeps in his crib, yay!
I have to say if you ever feel like you have it bad with your kids just take a trip to Primary Children's. While we were in the radiology department we seen disabled children unable to even wipe their own mouths, kids with cancer just coming out of treatment and children with walkers. I can't imagine all that the parents of those children go through.
On Tuesday Breckin went in for his circumcision. Shad and I decided to stay to watch, wow...I didn't expect what we watched. For those of you who have not ever seen the procedure it is not pretty and it was more than just a couple snips. Poor guy didn't sleep for two nights afterward. Brin has also had a hard time sleeping so we are extremely grateful not only for each other, but Shad's mom has been able to take the kids each morning so we can sleep in...another wonderful blessing!! We feel extremely blessed despite all that we have been through.

Well that is good news that he has reflux and its not much more serious than that. Well we were going to come visit you guys tomorrow but we decided not to just in case were getting sick again and besides Matt has to go work at Aunt Alison's house with Dennis.. I think by the time I got driving there with 2 kids screaming and yelling and the baby crying it would really do me in. So i think that we better wait a little longer to venture that far.. I'm glad that he is doing better now if only I could get my little one to sleep in her bed that would be great
Sorry to hear about his reflux. We had to have Owen on Prevacid for 5 month, and he spit up all the time but I'm glad to say it went away (the spitting up part lasted a few more months). Sounds like Breckin has it worse though- poor kid.
When it warms up in a couple of months, I'd like to come down there and take Brinley to a nearby park or something to play with Sloan. It'll allow you to have a couple of hours to sleep, clean, or just spend time alone with Breckin. I really appreciated the few times that was done for me.
Glad to hear he's doing better. It sounds like Idonna has been a HUGE help.
Glad to hear it was only reflux and he will grow out of it. It is good you are still getting some help also. Lots of Hugs and Loves your way............Mom and Gary, GM & GP
