Yankee Doodle

Brinley came down sick a few days before the fourth :( On Sunday the 3rd she had a horrible cough that wouldn't let her have a break. Poor little thing was so miserable! Shad called a doctor he just sold a car to and asked him what we could do. All the things he suggested we had already tried....honey, vicks, candy. He called in a prescription for a codeine cough syrup which finally did the trick! Shad started coming down sick on Monday so the two of them slept the day away while Breckin and I hung out. That night we decided not to go to Shad's work to watch the fireworks (it is only a few blocks from the stadium) and put the kiddos to bed early. Shad and I went outside to see if we could see the fireworks from our house. Sure enough we could sit on our deck and see them! We woke up Brinley, which she wasn't happy about, she kept asking to go back to bed. After sitting with us and watching them for a few minutes she decided she liked the "boom booms". The fireworks didn't faze Breckin at all. He loved them!!! I had great ideas for desert. I wanted to make rice crispies and then put the flag on top using icing, but I didn't have time. I ended up dying some of the crisps blue and red instead:) Hope everyone had a great fourth. We are so grateful to all those you have and are fighting to keep this freedom and help other countries to have more freedoms. We feel so blessed to live in this country that God has made.
