Our New Year was pretty uneventful except for the neighbors and their fireworks waking up Breckin and us trying to get/keep Brinley asleep. Shad had wanted to put the finishing touches on his Grandpa's truck for weeks and finally finished all he could that night and he also installed a ceiling fan in Brinley's room hoping it would help her sleep better, to no avail. We honestly didn't do much and we still have our goals we need to write down for the New Year. Life has kept us busy. We recieved some unexpected news a few days into the New Year. Brinley has had a cough and has not slept well, since birth, but especially the last few months. It became very apparent after Breckin started sleeping through the night. We decided to let Brin "cry it out" one night to try to get her to sleep better which actually lead to her become completely traumatized. So, I took her in to the doctor for help. I was not prepared for what he was going to tell me. As we were sitting there the doctor was asking Brinley questions and instead of her answering she would repeat them, which is called echolalia. I thought it was a stage along with her stuttering, and regressing in other areas (potting training, numbers, letters, songs and people). I also thought it was because it was because of her lack of sleep. Apparently, what she is doing could be signs of something more serious and neurological. The pediatrician ordered an EEG and we are working to get her to a neurologist and possibly an endroconlogist. Where her symptoms have come on so quickly and she isn't improving time is of the essence. The last eleven days we have spent praying, worrying, hoping, spending quality time together and trying to find answers to know what we can do for our daughter. It has been a whirlwind of emotions and anticipation. We will be posting more as we know more. We are learning how to have more faith and peace through these challenges and know our Heavenly Father is aware of Brinley and will help her and us. More to come...

Oh man, I hope the answers to worries about Brinley come soon and are a comfort to you. And, any help she may need, will come at an ease to her and you as parents. You two have had so much patience with your children- they were sent to you for a reason.
Jed and I are praying for you all. This is one time where I can say I totally understand how you feel. I hope you can feel peace and the love of our Savior. I hope they find answers soon.
Love,
Kathy
