With all of the stress with Brinley along with Shad and I feeling like we are about ready to blow we decided to get away for the weekend. It was wonderful. The weather was perfect! We stayed in St. George the first night. The hotel we stayed at only had an outdoor pool, which was heated, but it was still only 58 degrees outside. Since Shad promised Brinley that he would take her swimming they went. Breckin and I just watched the two "crazies" splash and play in the pool. They ended up going into the hot tub and spending all there time there. I took Breckin back to the hotel room and filled up the bath tub for him to play in. He loved it. Brin came back and showed me how she learned how to plug her nose and stick her head under water. I was shocked and impressed. I guess there was a little girl there not much older than Brinley that was teaching her these new tricks.
That night we had pizza delivered and watched the disney channel (not Shad's favorite, good thing there were two tvs). It was a lot of fun. The next morning we drove around looking at houses. Someday we will probably have to move our decrepit bodies to a warmer climate. Then we headed to Zions National Park. It was awe inspiring. I love the place. Brinley especially loved the long tunnel. Just outside of the park on Mt. Carmel (I think that is what it is called) is a buffalo ranch called Zion Mountain Ranch. We stayed there about four years ago when I was pregnant with Brin and this is the first time we have been back. It is a really fun place to stay. We stayed in a family cabin right next to where the buffalo come to eat. Brinley and Breckin loved the buffalo. Brin couldn't get enough of going out on the deck to see them. Shad bought her a big stuffed buffalo and Breckin a little baby one. They both slept with them that night, which was so adorable. The next day we went back through the park and headed home. We stopped in a small town outside of the park to eat breakfast and I ended up yelling at a guy to watch his language (he was very crude) I didn't want my kids hearing it. He was sitting right behind Brinley in the next booth. Shad thought I was going postal on him until he realized what I was saying and who I was saying it to. I think the waitress and the other people around us where a little on edge after that. I wouldn't be surprised if other mommas wouldn't have done the same thing with the things that guy was saying! Shad was in a bad mood (no sleep and cranky kids can do that I guess) that morning until that happened. He kept busting a gut laughing about it the rest of the day. While we were down in St. George Shad bought a car so we switched off driving cars on the way home. Which worked out well since Brinley was having a really bad day and Shad and I could switch off and get a break.
Brinley loves Zions and keeps asking to go back. I think we will sooner than later!

Fun! My parents live 25 miles from Zions so we try to go there when we visit them. Sloan loves the Mt. Carmel tunnel a lot too.
