This past Mother's Day was such a wonderful day/weekend. Shad's mom came down from Idaho. Shad surprised us by renting an RV and taking us to Lake Powell. He also surprised us with the most beautiful flowers and vases! Shad hadn't been to the Utah side of Lake Powell and Shad's mom had not been there at all. The trip down was nice and uneventful. It was a little stressful getting packed, we were all a little sick to with a cold. Once we were on the road it was heaven. The kids were great. We found a spot close to the beach and setup camp the first night. The next day we played in the water and just relaxed. Shad found a better spot so we ended up moving camp and going for a 4x4 ride. The weather was perfect and the water was just about right. The last day we were there we rented a boat and toured the lake. It was so much fun! Brinley and Breckin couldn't get enough of the water. That is all they wanted to do was swim and play in the water. On the last night of our trip we stayed in goblin valley. Since we had such a big load we couldn't really go into the park and we didn't have a whole lot of time there so we will make another trip back sometime. We had planned on making a trip to the dinosaur museum in Price. It is the one I grew up knowing about, but the RV starting having problems. The check engine light came on, the inside began to have a horrid sewage stench that was making us sick. We ended up cutting our trip a little short and not going to the museum. Thankfully, the RV didn't break down and we made it back safe and sound. We are so glad grandma came with us. She is so wonderful and we are grateful for the mother that she is to us and grandma to our children. I love my kids and I am grateful to be a mom and feel blessed to have them as my children. They are the best mothers day gift I could ever receive!

Looks fun! I love little family vacations like that, and an RV would make it so much better. We drive past that convenience store in the rocks every year we go to Lake Powell, but I've never checked it out.
