I am still trying to get caught up on July before I start any posts for August. The day after Shad and I got home for Washington Brinley had her first day of swimming lessons. She was pretty excited and I think she had a great time even though she had a hard time putting her face in the water. She was the only girl in her class out of four kids and I think it was usually just her and one other boy most days. Shad's mom was still in town so on Monday night we had dinner and celebrated Pioneer Day a day early. Idona had bought a little package of fireworks that had a really loud screeching fountain in it. Brinley burst into tears when it was going off. Poor girl likes fireworks as long as she can't hear the booms or the screeching.
The next day we had a picnic for dinner at a park to celebrate Pioneer Day. It started to rain so we ate in one of the pavilions. This one was pretty big and it had a stage in it. Brinley and Breckin were completely happy running around and singing for us. After the rain stopped we were able to see on of the most beautiful rainbows we have ever seen. A couple of weeks ago we saw one from our deck, but this one was much closer and brighter. I LOVE rainbows and it has been nice to see two of them so far this summer! I am sad that I don't have any pictures to upload from our picnic and Brin singing. Here is a picture from the rainbow we saw from our house though...
Brinley finished her swim lessons over a week ago. She wouldn't put her whole face under the water so she will need to repeat the class. Overall though she did really well. We are really proud of her and how far she has come. I am also really proud of Breckin and how good he was for those two weeks of torture for him just having to watch and not be able to swim. Shad and I have taken them swimming a few times since for being so good.
