Four Year Anniversary

Shad and I celebrated our four year wedding anniversary on the 17th of August. A lot has happened in four years of marriage and in the two years prior that we dated. It is amazing to see that we have two children and love our life together despite the challenges we face as a couple! We kept it simple this year and decided to take the kiddos on a picnic up to Bridal Veil Falls. Brin helped me make pasta, chicken, strawberry shortcake and cut up some juicy watermelon, YUM! It was really enjoyable and memorable! There was something we saw that really touched Shad and I. There was a girl, about 20 years old, in a wheelchair with her family. I am not sure if it was her brother, boyfriend or husband, but he picked her up out of her wheelchair and carried her through the water up to a rock so that she could get her picture taken by the falls. You could tell it was hard for him to balance and carry her through the water and was a sacrifice on his part so that she could have that experience. It was very touching and helps us to appreciate the simple things in life that we take for granted.

For a while I didn't understand how it was possible to love someone more than before. I guess I still don't know how it happens I just know that it does. With the good times and the bad, the conflict and the joy we have grown together in love and become stronger together. I am grateful that Shad takes the time to do the little things that mean so much and build our relationship. Marriage takes a lot of effort and I am grateful we are both committed to each other through it all. Here is to forever honey...I love you!!
