We are sick of the sickees!!!! Brinley and Breckin have been sick yet again (and now Shad has it)...this time Brinley had the worst of it. Since she had RSV everything goes to her chest. She has had a horrible cough for a couple weeks and also a couple gigantic canker sores. Anytime Brinley has been around other kids whether it be nursery or dance she comes down sick. This whole summer and so far fall has been filled with taking care of sick kids. Shad has been so busy with work and stressed with sick kids that he had about had it so we skipped town to Idaho a week ago this past Friday. We were only able to get away for two nights, but it was much need and we enjoyed it! Shad and I spent the first night in a hotel a few minutes away from Grandma's house. It was kind of a weird feeling. We checked on the kids that next day before we headed to McCall. It is beautiful there, but not our style. We would go back to camp a few miles out of town, but not to stay in town. The place we stayed was the only hotel on the lake. They were booked except for one room, a suite. It wasn't worth what we paid, but the location was what made it worth it and the company :) We ate at a place called The Mill. The money maker in that town is alcohol. We were the only people in the restaurant that weren't drinking. Even at breakfast the next morning people where already drinking. I had no idea they had breakfast liquor until I seen it on the menu. It was weird to say the least. While we were there we took a ride on some bicycles the hotel had for their guests. Shad asked me if he looked gay and I told him not completely. He still doesn't think it was very funny :) It was nice to breathe fresh pine air and realize how out of shape we are! It was nice to have some peace and quiet. We just talked on the drive up and back. The radio wasn't even turned on once! I have to say though we really started to miss our kids, especially with them still being sick. Shad's mom threw Shane's girls a birthday party so we stayed for the party and then left right after. It is much easier traveling with kids at night while they sleep. It just isn't very fun getting home at 2am.
The kids have been getting better and Brinley keeps asking to go the the mountains. Which means take the atvs and go riding. Since she has been sick off and on for the last few months we haven't gone. We decided to go since they felt better, even though Shad was coming down with it. The weather on Saturday was perfect! The place we went was 5 mile pass. I haven't been out there since before Shad wrecked and I was nervous for us to go back. Shad tried to find where he wrecked, but couldn't find it. Even though he couldn't find it, it helped bring some sense of closure to know we can face what scares us and overcome it. In this case be able to go riding again and be able to enjoy it and not worry or be afraid of the same thing happening again. It was so much fun to be outside enjoying the outdoors again!! We were gone for four hours. Our neighbors came along with us (they are our older than our parents by the way). I guess Brinley kept telling Shad to go faster especially over the little hills on the trail to make her tummy tickle. You think she takes after her dad at all?? Breckin slept most of the time while he was with me. When he was awake he loved it. I forget how much fun riding is. It was a fun day, but all of us were exhausted by the time we came home and Shad really wasn't feeling very good at that point. He sacrifices a lot of his comfort for me and the kiddos. Poor guy has been miserable, but continues to work and not let it get the best of him. I just hope that we can have a break for a while especially with the Holidays coming up!
