While Shad's mom was here we decided to go up to Strawberry and go snowmobiling. It was the closet place that had enough snow and trails. Brinley was having a rough day so we thought it would be good for her and all of us to get out and do something fun. This was the first time Brinley, Breckin or I had ever been snowmobiling and years since Shad's mom had been. Shad was in heaven...it was the first time this winter he was able to do what he loves outdoors!
Both Brinley and Breckin loved it. Poor little Breckin only was able to go on a very short ride and he wasn't happy that he couldn't go longer. Sorry bud you are just a little too little this year :( Brinley had a blast. We didn't stay very long because she had a couple seizures up there poor little thing. We found out later that the sleep medicine that was prescribe to her that we gave her the night before causes her to have more seizures, so no more sleep meds. When my turn came to ride with Shad I was nervous to say the least. He likes to scare me as it is so I knew I was in for it on the snowmobile. Shad says that I was flailing like a fish and he wanted to push me off into the snow. I was actually pounding on his chest trying to tell him to slow down before I flew off the back. It was the weirdest feeling riding on a snowmobile for the first time. I hated it at first and swore I wouldn't ride on it again. After he let me drive it I changed my mind. I LOVED it! It wasn't fun trying to stay on the back with my butt sliding around and hang on to my husband for dear life, but driving was a whole different thing! It was awesome!
A little while before we were going to pack up to go Shad had his mom and I go out. I was a little bit nervous, not that Shad's mom isn't a good driver or anything. I wasn't sure what to do if something went wrong. It was my first time out and Idona hadn't been in a long time. I will never forget that ride and I won't be able to stop giggling inside every time I think about it. We were cruising down the trail enjoying the ride when we pass two girls stopped on the trail. We asked them if they were okay and they said they were fine. A little ways down the road we decide to turn around. Idona found a spot for us to turn around and as we were making the turn the girls that were stopped were now flying toward us. We would have hit them if we kept making the turn back onto the trail. Idona of course stops so that we don't hit them and next thing we know we are stuck in a small ravine of four feet plus of snow. At the time we didn't know it has a reverse (big blond moment for the two of us, I know) which would have made getting out a lot easier. Anyway, we both got off the snowmobile and I stood on the side foot rail and pushed the gas to see if I can get us out. Next thing I know I am face first in the snow and the snowmobile is now even more stuck, lovely. I decided to try again because I know we will never hear the end of it if Shad has to come and get us out. I hop on it again and finally get us out. I fell to the ground exhausted on the trail while Idona was trudging through snow as deep as she is tall trying to get to me. We couldn't stop laughing all the way back. What added to the humor of the situation was how slow I was going on the way back. I didn't want Idona to fall off the back so I think I hold the record for being the slowest snowmobile driver ever! It was fun and I think we all enjoyed it even Brin with the rough day she was having especially dad taking her over snow banks and making big U shapes in the snow on the mountains! Yay!
