Easter

We had a really fun relaxing Easter this year. The weather was wonderful and it was our first official time back to church for all of us! The speakers at church did a great job bringing the spirit to the meeting. Brinley went to Sunbeams for the first time and did great. Breckin loved leading the music during the hymns, so cute! I can't believe last Easter is when we blessed Breckin. I just don't want my kids to grow up!

The weather was perfect for an Easter egg hunt after church. Brin helped me all week decorating the eggs and filling them with candy. It was so warm that day all the chocolate eggs began to melt. There are times that there is nothing that brings us more joy than our kids. This Easter was one of those times for us. With all that they have been through it was so nice to see them just be able to be kids and have fun. I wish I could have stopped time just watching them. Brin knew exactly what to do with the eggs and she had her basket filled to overflowing in no time. Breckin quickly got the hang of things and loved picking them up and plopping them in his basket. It was just an all around good day. We even had what Brinley calls a "picnic". We ate dinner outside on the deck.

We are so grateful for our Savior and for his atonement and Resurrection. We don't really know what he went through and we are learning more about Jesus and how to be like him. It is not easy at all and we fail miserably trying some days and it is even harder to pick ourselves back up and try again. I am starting to realize how much I still have to learn especially as a parent and what life is really all about. Teaching Brinley (she teaches me more than I teach her) about Jesus and Easter has really helped me to reflect on what the holiday is really all about in a simple clear cut way. I am beginning to understand why we are asked to be as little children.

Brin and Breck are sporting the cute pjs that Grandma Burnam made them for Easter. They are a hit, the kids love them!
