We enjoyed our fourth of July aka Independence Day even though Shad and Breckin were sick. On the third I took the kids to see the hot air balloons. It was a lot of fun even at 6am:) They are so big in real life! Both kids loved the balloons, but Breckin was ready to go home. We watched them all launch and then we left to go home and take a nap. That night Breckin came down really sick. The fourth we spent all day letting the sickees rest:) I wanted to take the kids to the parade, but it was a no go with little Breckin being so sick. We did have a BBQ with red and blue Popsicles. Brinley even sang "Happy Birthday" to America. That night we watched an amazing fireworks show put on by all of the neighbors and we could even see the stadium fireworks from lawn chairs in the back of our truck at our house. It was a little bit redneck, but it was a perfect view! With all of the fires this year, living between two fields and having little ones we weren't going to chance fireworks. I ended up buying some flag glow sticks from the dollar store in red, white and blue that the kids loved! Despite the yearly illness we seem to get over the fourth we had a really good time! The song that pretty much sums up this day for us is, "I'm Proud to be an American".
The Pig Balloon was Brin's favorite!
Breckin's favorite balloon, Smokey the bear :)
We took pictures of the coke bottle just for Shad...it was HUGE!
Happy dance for the balloons!!!
Yummy BBQ dinner!
Loving the popsicles!!
